Dare to be Different

Kids at school call me The Excessive Reader. A title that will never go away, but stay always. I have a friend who thinks I like "my title". I don't. No one could possibly know how much it hurts to be singled out as a different person. I mean, I value my uniqueness, but I don't like it when other people single me, a normal, (well, maybe not quite) person, as strange.

Over my many years at my school, I have learned that it is important to "Dare to be different" no matter how hard it is. Now, when I am summoned gently by my title, I don't stifle a sob as I did in 4th grade. Now, the present, and in the future, I hold my head up proudly and am a leader, not a follower.
